Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
No. While you might find Audrey listed as a provider on your insurance website, Green Couch Psychiatry, LLC is not contracted with any insurance companies.
Audrey utilizes standard billing codes for most services. Upon request, you will be provided with a “superbill” which you can submit to your insurance company for “Out-of-Network” reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and may be significantly less than the amount billed. Please be aware that if you seek reimbursement from an insurance company for medical services, your medical record may be subject to review (“audit”) by the insurance company.
Are you available for in-person appointments?
Yes! I’m available for in-person appointments at my Northampton, MA office. The office is on the second floor of an older building. Should stairs pose a challenge, please let me know in advance so that I can arrange a first-floor meeting space. Entry into the building requires a few steps up to the porch, there is also a ramp available on the right side of the building. I also offer appointments online using a secure video-conferencing system.
How do I become a patient?
If we are new to each other and you are interested in becoming a patient, I welcome you to schedule a free, online, Introductory Chat. To schedule an Introductory Chat, click here and select, “I’m a new client.” Then select the “online” option and choose “Introductory Chat.” Once I receive and approve your request, you’ll receive an appointment confirmation with a link to login to your telehealth appointment. You’ll also receive copies of consent forms and general policies. These forms will be available for your review but you do not need to sign them until we decide to work together.
I tend to work best with individuals who appreciate a clear and direct communication style. I maintain a relatively small caseload to ensure I’m appropriately resourced to provide clients with the best care I can offer. If I have concerns that I might not be the right person for your needs, I will let you know that during our Introductory Chat. I do not work extensively with individuals facing severe challenges related to substance use or food restriction. I do not willingly offer any forensic (or court-related) testimony or services.
How do I get my prescription refilled?
FOR ROUTINE REFILLS, please CONTACT YOUR PHARMACY online or by phone to initiate a refill request, it helps to have your medication bottle/prescription number on hand. Once the pharmacy has contacted me (usually through an automated process), I may need up to 72 hours to process your refill. Medication requests might not be seen or approved on weekends, holidays or after hours so, please plan accordingly.
If you need an update on your prescription status, PLEASE SPEAK WITH A HUMAN at your pharmacy. Your medication may be out of stock or delayed for reasons unknown to me/your provider. If prior authorization (a “P.A.”) is required and appropriate, I will respond to the request in a timely manner. I must receive a prior authorization request from your pharmacy in order to complete it. We must have accurate insurance and personal identification information on hand to be able to complete it. Between the insurance company, pharmacy and prescriber, prior authorizations may take take up to 2 weeks to process. While I will take reasonable steps to ensure your medications are accessible, neither your psychiatric provider nor Green Couch Psychiatry, LLC is ultimately responsible for your insurance company’s decisions. Paying out-of-pocket or through pharmacy discount programs may be an option if coverage is denied.
The process for CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE REFILLS will be discussed during appointments on a case-by-case basis. Generally, you will have needed to be seen within the past 3 months to receive a refill. Similarly, it is expected that you have a follow-up appointment already scheduled when requesting a refill.
